Biography:

Dr. Timberlake earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005 and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies – Research, Measurement, and Statistics from Georgia State University in 2011.

As the Deputy Superintendent for Assessment and Accountability at the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), Dr. Timberlake oversees, plans, and directs the development, implementation, and analysis of Georgia’s K-12 student assessment and accountability systems. Prior to this role, she directed the development and implementation of Georgia’s student growth model and redesigned school accountability system. Prior to joining the GaDOE, she oversaw assessment and evaluation activities for the Southern Regional Education Board’s (SREB) school improvement initiatives.
