Current Job: Principal Planner, Research & Analytics at Atlanta Regional Commission
Biography:

Christina De Giulio is a Principal Planner in Research & Analytics at the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). At the ARC, Christina uses data analysis, visualization, and storytelling tools to promote data literacy and encourage local communities, nonprofits, and regional partners to make data-driven decisions. As part of her role, Christina helps staff Neighborhood Nexus, the region’s community intelligence system, which provides the most accurate, up-to-date data and research about the Atlanta region’s communities and neighborhoods. Christina also provides data management services to Learn4Life, the Metro Atlanta Regional Education Partnership.

Prior to joining the Atlanta Regional Commission, Christina worked as a Research Analyst at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, where she provided demographic and economic data used to attract jobs and investment to the region. Christina also previously worked, first as a Graduate Research Assistant and then as an Associate Project Manager, for Georgia Tech's Enterprise Innovation Institute where she helped communities throughout Georgia prepare economic development plans and studies to foster their growth.

While at Tech, Christina pursued a dual-Masters in Public Policy and City & Regional Planning, with a concentration in economic development. Christina took every class with Dr. Jennifer Clark that was available (!), and credits Dr. Clark’s mentorship and emphasis on instilling solid research methodologies as invaluable to her own academic success and professional development. A native metro-Detroiter, Christina holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wayne State University, and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University, in addition to her advanced degrees from Tech.
