Biography:

After graduating from the Public Policy program, Rebecca received her J.D. from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. A former real estate attorney and later family law litigator, Rebecca transitioned into legal recruiting after 6 years of practicing law. She is currently a Managing Director at Major Lindsey & Africa, the world's largest and oldest legal recruiting firm, where she specializes in placing associates of all levels in top-tier national, international, and regional law firms and companies throughout the Southeast. Rebecca regularly advises law firms about the lateral market, and speaks to lawyers and law schools on topics as varied as choosing the right practice area, finding a mentor and building a personal brand. She has received numerous accolades for her effectiveness as a legal recruiter and was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle's "Who's Who in Law."

While at Tech, Rebecca was involved in Student Government, was the Chair of Women's Awareness Month, wrote for The Technique, and was chosen to be a member of ANAK. An Atlanta native, Rebecca enjoys dining at Atlanta's best restaurants with her wife, Tameeka, and spending time on the Atlanta Beltline.

Her advice to Public Policy students is two-fold: 1. Get to know your professors on a personal-level, not just as teachers. They are some of the most interesting, accomplished, and helpful people on campus. 2. Get involved in something extracurricular! After you graduate, you won't have fond memories of studying for that Calculus exam, or that Public Policy final, but you will have fond memories of staying up late creating a Wreck for the Homecoming Parade.
