Borenstein Gives Talks on Responsible Conduct of Research and Engineering Ethics during Distinguished Speaker Series at UW - Madison

Dr. Jason Borenstein from the School of Public Policy and Office of Graduate Studies was recently invited to University of Wisconsin – Madison campus for its 2019 David & Sarah Epstein Research Ethics Distinguished Speaker Seminar Series.  His talks, which took place on September 24 and 25, were entitled “Responsible Conduct of Research: Authorship, Publication, & Data Integrity” and “Engineering in Society: AI and Ethics”.  The former involved a discussion of key ethical responsibilities associated with authorship and publication, including as they pertain to manuscript preparation and reproducibility.  The latter involved an overview of key ethical issues, such as privacy and algorithmic bias, related to Artificial Intelligence with a particular focus on autonomous vehicles.
