1. What do you do?
I serve as chief of staff at the Sierra Club, where I lead strategy, communications, and policy alignment for one of the nation’s most influential environmental organizations. My role focuses on connecting vision to execution, helping teams and partners turn ideas into meaningful action for people and the planet.
2. What’s the coolest part of your job?
The most rewarding part is watching policy come to life. I see communities benefit from cleaner air, lower energy bills, and fairer systems because of ideas we helped shape. Working with people who care deeply about justice and innovation keeps me inspired every day.
3. Why are you passionate about it?
I am passionate about this work because it is about protecting the only home we have. I think about my sons and the kind of planet they will inherit. Every decision we make today shapes the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the opportunities they will have to thrive. Environmental progress is not just policy; it is a promise to future generations that we can do better and leave the world stronger than we found it.
4. Which skills from your IAC degree have helped you be successful in this career?
Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College taught me to think critically, communicate clearly, and act with purpose. I learned to see policy as both a moral and practical framework. The problem-solving mindset I gained at Tech helps me navigate complex issues and build strategies that bring people together.
5. What’s your #1 tip for students and alumni interested in your field?
Keep a curious mind and never stop learning. Take on challenges others avoid and stay open to new directions. Build strong relationships, be reliable, and follow the opportunities that spark your energy. Growth will follow from there.
