Graduate International Study Opportunities

Overview

The Georgia Tech School of Public Policy is internationally-recognized as a center of excellence in the analysis of the policy implications of science and technology. The School has extensive international research, educational, and policy linkages with other organizations, centers, and programs around the world.

In recent years, Georgia Tech graduate students in public policy (MS and PhD programs) have participated in a variety of individual or customized international study abroad, training, or presentation opportunities. These have ranged  from short visits to present papers at international conferences to one-year research training assignments overseas. Georgia Tech graduate public policy students interested in pursuing international opportunities should discuss this with their faculty advisors.

The School has a successful record of arranging study  abroad  opportunities for its graduate students.  We expanded our international exchanges as a founding member of the PRIME Network of Excellence in Research and Innovation and the European Inter-University Association on Society, Science, and Technology (ESST).   The funding for this program has ended, but the links and possibilities for study abroad continue.  In recent years, students have spent semesters studying or engaging in research at:

  • Delft University of Technology (TU-Delft), The Netherlands*
  • Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovations Research, Germany*
  • Science and Technology Policy Research Unit (SPRU), Sussex University, United Kingdom
  • University of Twente, The Netherlands*

*Institutions with whom the School has an exchange agreement or a memorandum of understanding.

New and current students may wish to consider these opportunities as they develop their study plans, so as to participate in a later semester.
